How Are Macbeth And Lady Macbeth Presented In Act 2 Scene 2? How Could This Be Shown On Stage? In Act 2 Scene 2 Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are presented in various ways throughout the scene. This is because of the tense and anxious nature of the scene. The characters go through a number of changes in feeling through the scene; these changes will be looked at in detail in the main body of the essay. This scene takes place immediately after the murder of Duncan. Meanwhile Lady Macbeth is anxiously wondering whether Macbeth will really do the deed. When he returns, covered in blood and highly strung, she organises how to cover up the murder so that they wont be found out. A foolish thought to say a sorry sight. This shows that Lady Macbeth is taking control because Macbeth is saying that what tehy have done shouldnt have been done. But Lady Macbeth is saying that he shouldnt think like that and that he should look to the positive things that willl be gained. She is saying that Macbeth is forgetting the great things that can be gained, she says these things because she knows that deep down Macbeth has ambitions to be king. Despite Lady Macbeths attempts to convince Macbeth that he hasnt done anything wrong Macbeth still feels regretful to what he has done. Macbeth knows that what he has done changes all that he held dear. He knows that he has thrown away a life of honesty, loyalty and bravery to leap into the unknown and become king. He is also worried that the whole natural world knows what he has done, he is paranoid, he is worried that he is upsetting the natural order of things.
